Grounding Start To Your Day
Visualisation & Meditation Technique
Sitting in either a cross-legged position on the ground is best, on a chair, or you can stand. Do not lie down for this visualisation.
An advanced position could be child’s pose with your third eye chakrah firm to the ground.
Connect with your surroundings. Take Four deep breaths. Inhale for six counts, hold for two counts, exhale for six counts, hold for two counts and repeat. When inhaling and exhaling, try to fill and empty your lungs as much as possible.
Visualise tethers or bungee cords you have grappled to various places or people that you have felt comfortable or at home with. Call them back to you now. Call all of your grounded energy back to you for a full cup. Have the intention of release. Feel them release and return.
Take another deep breath.
Imagine that you intend to ground yourself in this moment. From your Root Chakra, picture a tether that you intend to ground yourself as rigidly as possible to the relaxation you feel in this moment. Send the tether through the floor, through the Earth, through the rock, through the magma, all the way to the Earth’s core. As Earthed as it possibly can be.
Find a cavern deep in the Earth’s crust - as close to the centre as your mind can fathom. This ensures a deep, energetic connection point directly from the base of your nervous system with the centre of the Earth’s energy. In this cavern, imagine an anchor at the end of your tether that you secure into the rock formations. Imagine the tension of the tether and the grip of the anchor - as if an anchor catching to steady a boat.
Return to your mind’s awareness. Take a long, deep breath. Intend that the anchor is set and you are grounded with Earth’s energy. This anchor can be released at any point.
Focus on the feeling of the surface connection between your body and the Earth. Through gravity, friction, sensory receptors. Consider what lies between you and the Earth’s core, where you anchor. Picture roots growing from your skin, through the floor, through the framework of the building, past the gaps and into the ground. Like the roots of a plant searching for sustenance and life-force from nutrient-dense soil.
Send your energy through these roots. Send your love. You are part of the Earth now.
Now, envision Earth sending roots up to meet yours. Like vines searching for structure to latch on to for stability. These vines provide oxygen and life for the animals on the surface. See these roots or vines meeting your skin, touching the surface. The vines continue to grow up your body as much as you are willing. Receive the love and safety they provide. The vines continue to grow over the structure of your body. They climb up and up until they are consuming you in their grasp. The whole of you. There is plenty of air and space. You are being embraced by Earth’s energy. She has cocooned you in a loving embrace. As you have supplied her with conscious energy.
You are now grounded as one.
Open your eyes. Take a breath and release the tension remaining in your body. Go outside onto the grass and consider the first tree or plant you see nearby. Consider yourself initiated into Nature.
How different are we really from a plant? They need us, and we need them.
Begin your day as one with nature.
